Don't take this as me preaching to you but as words out of love :]
We as human beings really don't deserve anything at all. We're sinners and deserve death, but God gave us life.
When you give, it should be from the heart and because you want to... not because you want something in return. It's definitely normal to feel that way though, we all feel that way at some point. I actually do a lot. But we shouldn't. We just need to learn to be selfless and patient. It's hard but it's most definitely possible. Good things will eventually come to you when it's the right time and when you're ready.
